THE LOVE THAT NEVER COMES By Onwumereobi Ifeanyi Victor
THE LOVE THAT NEVER COMES
We lay await
With hopes rekindled as the sun.
Searching through this fleeting place,
Feelings tuck within our vein and burn.
As we wait, more optimistic
For the love that never comes.
We’ve tried from the onset
For what’s was, which is what’s not.
We saw it riding like a sassy jet,
We gladly came, but it’s damn rot.
Our zeal wasted and so myopic,
Because of the love that always forms
In utter dismay and somber hope,
We waited the next we’ll fit it’s ride.
It’s groaning stakes, we’ve sought to cope,
But was never able to beat it’s tide.
Our tears floods like the drizzling ocean,
Longing for the love that never say.
Alas, our soul, we never will quit.
Here’s another that it’s feels is pure,
Our thoughts and need indeed it fits.
But it knows the all and all we know,
From Tayo, to the whites, then to Goshen.
This is a love that never stays.
We lay await
With hopes rekindled as the sun.
Searching through this fleeting place,
Feelings tuck within our vein and burn.
As we wait, more optimistic
For the love that never comes.
We’ve tried from the onset
For what’s was, which is what’s not.
We saw it riding like a sassy jet,
We gladly came, but it’s damn rot.
Our zeal wasted and so myopic,
Because of the love that always forms
In utter dismay and somber hope,
We waited the next we’ll fit it’s ride.
It’s groaning stakes, we’ve sought to cope,
But was never able to beat it’s tide.
Our tears floods like the drizzling ocean,
Longing for the love that never say.
Alas, our soul, we never will quit.
Here’s another that it’s feels is pure,
Our thoughts and need indeed it fits.
But it knows the all and all we know,
From Tayo, to the whites, then to Goshen.
This is a love that never stays.
